Another weird sort of day today. I made pancakes for breakfast, then the plumber people arrived. They've been here ever since ... so no stove, no water, the microwave is on the floor, and I've been reading papers for hours. Just as well we're going out to hear a talk about John Donne this evening. And I've so much to do ... but it's hard when builders are walking in and out!

Shrove Tuesday
Another weird sort of day today. I made pancakes for breakfast, then the plumber people arrived. They've been here ever since ... so no stove, no water, the microwave is on the floor, and I've been reading papers for hours. What did you have on your pancake/s? (I assume you made more than one!!) I used mine to wrap sausages which I had panfried with leeks, and set them on a bed of mashed sweet potato. It was yummy! Then we had more for pudding with maple syrup. Yum.
We just had plain sugar and lemon juice. I had hoped to finish off the batter later in the day, perhaps in a more adventurous way, but I hadn't realised that those builders were going to leave me without a hob for two days!
By the way, yours sound good - very tasty!
